Matsalen

Matsalen is a modern gastronomic restaurant. Our cuisine is based on using the best fresh produce available here and now in Sweden and other parts of the world, spiced with curiosity and inspiration from everything we encounter.

“The natural cuisine” is a menu that changes with nature and the seasons. We pair wine, beer and other beverages with each of the dishes we create.

All the producers we work with are meticulously selected, they produce something we like. Our menu and drink offering – like the fresh produce – are living and change with the time of the year.

Matbaren

Matbaren is a modern bistro. Our cuisine is based on using the best fresh produce available here and now in Sweden and other parts of the world, spiced with curiosity and inspiration from everything we encounter.

Matbaren offers a selection of medium-sized dishes. Enjoy one or several, in whatever order you like, depending on your appetite and mood. We are happy to recommend wine, beer or other beverages that we think are a good match to your food.

Matbordet

Around Matbordet (The Dining Table) we are creating a here-and-now experience in collaboration with our guests, featuring seasonal produce, insight into the culinary process and up close expertise that brings lively discussions. This is a new and exciting dining experience that you share with other guests at the table with space for 10 people.

Produce

We are currently working with two activities: “3 produce” & “5 produce” which is based on what is available in terms of the season and what tastes best right now. The chef behind the table will cook a three course dinner or a five course dinner.

Our sommeliers will select a beverage package based on today´s dishes.

“3 produce”
Price: SEK 900 per person excluding beverages
Time:  Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 6:30 pm

“5 produce”
Price: SEK 1500 per person excluding beverages
Time:  Fridays and Saturdays 6:30 pm

Christmas at Matbordet

Around Matbordet (The Dining Table), we create a novel here-and-now experience in collaboration with 10 guests, featuring seasonal produce, insight into the culinary process and up-close expertise. By placing the chef at the table, we have blurred the boundaries and cut out a couple of traditional restaurant stages in order to bring the process as close to the guest as possible. Together at Matbordet, the guests and chef take part in a dynamic conversation, exchanging experiences, creating new ones and learning from each other.
From November 22 to December 22, we will be welcoming in Christmas and creating a unique experience at Matbordet, where one of our chefs will be cooking food featuring tastes and flavours from the traditional Christmas smörgåsbord with a novel approach. Perfect for those looking for a different and exclusive alternative to the classic Christmas lunch or dinner.

Tuesday – Saturday from November 22 to December 22.

Lunch, 12 noon

Six servings, SEK 995 per person
Beverage package, SEK 350 per person

Dinner, 6.30 pm

Eight servings, SEK 1,500 per person
Beverage package, SEK 600 per person

Private dining

Our large, rustic wine cellar has a charming inner chamber that can accommodate parties of up to 10, for those looking for a more private setting. From Matsalen and Matbarens kitchen, we will put together a menu based on the best fresh produce the season has to offer.

We can also assist you in tailoring a wine & beverage pairing to further enhance your gastronomic experience, under the guidance of our cheif sommelier Simon Samuelsson.

How to find us

Mathias Dahlgren is located on the ground floor of the Grand Hôtel, to the right of the main entrance, at Södra Blasieholmshamnen 6 in Stockholm.

Drop-in

In Matbaren we always have a number of unbooked seats around the bar when we open.

Party size

At Matsalen and Matbordet we accommodate parties on request. At Matbaren we accommodate parties of up to 12. If you wish to make reservations for larger parties please don’t hesitate to contact Johan or Simon who will handle your request. We do also have private dining opportunities.
